Australian Curriculum News
ACARA has released the final draft of the Australian Curriculum Senior Science Document for consultation.

The consultation period will continue until the 6th July 2012.

ACARA have advised that the consultation website is designed to enable users to register and provide feedback through an online questionnaire. Written feedback will also be accepted during the consultation period, with details on how to submit written feedback available on the Australian Curriculum consultation website.
Victoria, as with other states and territories, will be conducting extensive consultation which will be collated into a report to be presented to ACARA.
The VCAA in consultation with STAV, the AIP, CEA and Biology Teachers Network will be conducting consultation forums to also seek feedback.

Science and Mathematics Education Strategy for Victorian schools
The Strategy’s objectives are to:
- raise the level of science and mathematics achievement of every Victorian student
- increase student interest and participation, and encourage more students to pursue science and mathematics-related careers
- expand the knowledge base of teachers and increase teacher capacity to engage students.
